With it being the last day in June, I wanted to remind you to take a moment and look back at the month. With regards to couponing, how did you do? How would you like to do in July. It is helpful to set goals. With goals you have something to work towards. For example, if you save an average of 60% in June, make a goal for saving maybe 70% in July. Now that you have your goal for July- it is time to make your July budget. Not just grocery budget, but your entire budget. Try to stick to this budget in July, even if it means eating off of your stockpile towards the end of the month.

What can you do free in July with your kiddos? Here are some activities that I think we are going to try:
  • 4th of July activities
    • make a flag cake
    • make a flag out of construction paper
    • make fireworks (a friend at work gave me this activity- I haven't tried it yet but e-mail me if you would like the directions)
    • have a cookout (not free but we have meat stockpiled so it won't be too expensive )
    • Montessori- Do a transfer activity. This means to have the child move an object from one place to another. For example: moving blue pompoms (the craft ball things) to the blue bowl... repeat with red and white.. Once they master that try using tongs
  • Bug Day!
    • Make a caterpillar out of an egg carton
    • Read a new book about bugs
    • Go on a "Bug Hunt"
  • Zoo Day- I believe our passes expire this month so we may squeeze in one more day at the zoo.
