You live and you learn right? I have learned a lot this month. I usually have my budget done (for the most part) a least a couple of months ahead of time- so I know when credit card payments are due, etc. Well in August I completely forgot to do October's budget- probably because I was excited about vacation. I DID realize that Jon would have an extra paycheck in September. Not realizing that because he received an extra paycheck in September- it would be longer before he received his first October paycheck- so smart me bought me some much needed items (new pants, dress shoes, and work shoes). I ALSO forgot to clear my comments on the spreadsheet- making think I paid the Bright House bill for the month when I had not.
All that to say- we have had a rough couple of weeks because I screwed up. Exibit A of why Dave Ramsey wants you to have an emergency fund. God provided for us on many occasions. I got TWO refund checks, my mom was able to loan my $25.00, and many friends' provided me with formula and baby food coupons that made them both FREE! We made it through okay- but I don't ever want to cut it that close again. So I have the October budget done and I will be completing November and December's budget this week. I depleted some of my stockpile (and ALL of my formula stockpile) so I will be building them both again.
Being a RESPONSIBLE adult is hard.
